              A file relating to a sum of money (£4,000) given to the Jesuit Order, Mungret, County Limerick by Fr David O'Carroll PP. The contents of the file concern the issue of whether estate duty or succession duty is due to the Revenue Commissioners on the sum. Includes a statement by Irish Fr Provincial Laurence Kieran SJ. Recounts a conversation with Fr O'Carroll shortly before his death in which he remarked '"I have a large sum of money in the Bank of Ireland...I want to place a sum of £4,000 on deposit receipt in my own name and that of either Fr Dillon or Fr Shuley of Mungret so as to lessen the sum which will be to my credit if I die...if I die the money is to be drawn and given to the Apostolic School Mungret".'
